Happy Saturday & thanks for stopping by! Today's card is for this weeks OCC challenge over at Our Creative Corner. This is my last week hosting, next week Laurie Schmidlin will be our February host. This week's challenge is to create a card/project using two or more hearts.

For my design, since it is close to Valentine's Day, I designed a fun card for my darling husband. I inked up my NEW stamps from Verve called Sweet Valentine. I would also like to announce that Cut At Home is now taking pre-orders for all of the NEW Nestabilities.

Before I go, here are the winners for the K&Company stickers & Watermark. The custom watermark goes to Denise from The Crafty Den and the K&Company stickers go to MakiJo from Makink Studio. Congratulations to you both, please email me at jdmeyer6@sbcglobal.net to collect your prize.

Cuttlebug Challenge - A Weave Card

Hello & Thanks for stopping by! :) Today's card is for a fun challenge over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. The challenge is to create a weave card. Lori Boyd is the host and she has posted a wonderful step-by-step tutorial. For the complete details & samples, please click here.

For my weave. I started with 15 strips in Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette & White. My strips were 1/4" by 8 1/2" long. To get my weave going just a bit, I taped the white pieces down and started weaving the red alternating with the pink. After about 10 complete weaves, I removed the tape on the weave and started to move all of the strips together for a closer fit. I had to add a little more then what the tutorial suggested but you will figure what you will need to add as you make your weave. I cut a heart out using my heart Nestabilities from Cut At Home and then again with a smaller heart.
Once my weave was done, I cut the same large large heart and then trimmed it a bit so it would fit behind my brown heart. I tried several things with my layout but since I did not want to take away from the beautiful design of the weave, I kept it simple. The heart is popped up so I could stick a tag behind it. The tag is another heart which is where I put the sentiment. The sentiment is from the NEW Verve release called Sweet Valentine.

Before I go, I would also like to announce the winner for my watermark giveaway. Congratulations to Monica from Little Bit of Life. Please email me Monica so we can start on your watermark. :) jdmeyer6@sbcglobal.net
Thanks again for stopping by and making me smile!!

CC202 - Happy Hellos :)

Hello & thanks for stopping by... Today's card is for this weeks Color Challenge "CC202" over at Splitcoast. The challenge colors are: Regal Rose, Bravo Burgundy & Kiwi Kiss. For more inspiration with this color combination, check out the CC202 Gallery.

My card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. I bet some of you are wondering how I did the branch?! I inked up the whole stamp and turned it over so I could see the inked rubber. I then took a wet q-tip and wiped off the kiwi kiss on the flowers and buds. I then took my regal rose marker and inked all of the flowers and buds. I then took my bravo burgundy marker and colored on just the edge of the flowers and buds. It's a little work, but well worth it! Maybe someday, Stampin' Up! will come out with markers for their in-colors!!

If you give this technique a try, I would LOVE to see your beautiful samples. Just post a link here in the comment section so I go and check it out!!

Have a wonderful week,

FS102 Sweet Wishes & Giveaway

Happy Monday & thanks for stopping by today! Today's card is for this weeks Featured Stamper "FS102". Yesterday, I posted a card I Cased from one of Lori's gorgeous layouts. Her gallery is amazing!! Since I had a hard time deciding on which card to Case, I Cased three cards. Here is the card that inspired my second case.

For my design, I changed the colors, flopped the image and added a flower bouquet. This yummy cupcake is a fun Quickutz die I got from Cut At Home called Birthday Cake & Cupcake. For a little extra detail on the whip of the cupcake, I embossed it using the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder by Cuttlebug and added some Star Dust Stickles. The YUMMY background paper is from DCWV and it's called "The Sweet Stack". I got mine at Michaels.
Want to win a fun watermark...? Leave me a comment and you will be entered to win. I will announce the winner on Saturday, January 24th.
Have a wonderful week!

FS102 A Little Hello...

Hello & thanks for stopping by!! Today's card is for this weeks Featured Stamper "FS102". I LOVE Lori's work, her designs are stunning and so inspirational!! Lori's gallery is FULL of wonderful cards and since I could not pick just one to case, I chose three cards. I will post card number one today, card number 2 tomorrow and so on.
Here is the card that inspired me, isn't it beautiful?! Since I don't have these gorgeous birds by Nestabilities, I exchanged the bird with a heart. I am also still working on my Valentine cards, so I used more of this yummy bittersweet paper by Basic Grey. I LOVE it!

Before I go, I would like to thank you all for your thoughtful comments and questions on my message board. Since I don't have your email addresses, I will write a special post here! :)

Here is a comment from Cindy:
"I would love to know where you got the Santa face stamp that is on the blue and white card in your rolling "My Work" album. TIA!!!"
Thanks Cindy for stopping by... The name of the stamp is called Santa Collage and it's made by Rubber Stampede. I got that stamp from Michaels right before Christmas. If you email me your addy, I will get a few of these images to you. jdmeyer6@sbcglobal.net

Here is a comment from Dee T.
"Please tell me what are Nestabilities and how does it work?"
Thanks Dee for your comment... Nestabilities are made by Spellbinders. They are metal dies that Cut, Emboss and stencil all in one. They come in many different shapes and are easy to store. The dies are compatibility with other Machines, Cuttlebug, Big Kick, ect... Here is a Spellbinders Compatibility Chart from Cut At Home. Cut At Home also has a VIP 40% coupon you can use once a month on the Spellbinders products. Sign up is FREE.

Feel free to sign my message board, I see it everyday! Have a wonderful week! :)

OCC - Technique Challenge

Happy Saturday & thanks for stopping by :) Today's card is for this week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner. Looking at the card, can you tell what the challenge is? If you guessed embossing resist, you guessed right!!

Our Creative Corner samples are sure to inspire!! Dust off those heat guns and pick out your favorite embossing powder, we would LOVE to see your samples!! There is no time limit on our challenges - feel free to participate whenever you are able. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC
Even though I am in need of NEW stamps, I dusted off one of my favorites sets from Stampin' Up! called "Like it a Latte". The background was stamped using my Tres Chic block stamp and some versamark. Clear embossing powder was sprinkled on and heat set using my heat gun. I then sponged on some close to cocoa ink to make the background pop! For some extra detail, I used my Janome sewing machine and popped out the heart and straw. I like it a latte... :)

Check out these samples from the OCC Design Team ~

SC211 I LOVE My Pinkie

Hello & thanks for stopping by! Today's card is for this weeks Sketch Challenge "SC211" over at Splitcoast. Click here for all of the fun details and the sketch.

DD came home sick yesterday so I was not able to get any stamping done. She is home again today, so I am trying to get a little stamping in while she sleeps. Since I had a little time to play, I went to Splitcoast to check out the Sketch Challenge. The sketch was perfect for another fun design using the Happy Heart Day by Stampin' Up!

Since I LOVE pink, I made this adorable elephant in pink. After I designed my card, I replaced the stars with hearts using my heart Nestabilities from Cut At Home. For a little extra detail on the hearts, I used my doodle parts and cut the end off so it would swirl around the heart.

I hope all of you are enjoying your week! Thanks again for stopping by!

Update ~ Thanks for your thoughtful comments yesterday. I ran to Michaels last night and found the clear easel. I now have my card positioned a lot better and can now post more cards that are odd shaped! YEA!!

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by... This is a simple & quick Valentine's card. I started with my scalloped heart Nestabilities from Cut At Home and then punched out another heart using more of this yummy bittersweet paper by Basic Grey. I added a tag along with some fun doodle parts behind the felt flower. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Want to win this card for that special someone this Valentine's Day? Leave me a comment and I will announce the winner on Saturday, January 17th.

For my design, I added some fun stitching to the background piece. I then layered two different size hearts that were also stitched using my Janome mini. For fun I added some doodle parts using my Spellbinders doodle parts die from Cut At Home. The sentiment is from Verve called Sweet Valentine.
Thanks again for stopping by, Have a great week!

OCC - Color Challenge

Happy Saturday & thanks for stopping by! :) Today's card is for a fun color challenge over at Our Creative Corner. I am hosting all of the January challenges and this week I decided on a fun color challenge. The challenge is to use two shades of blue along with a neutral color. Since I have so much paper from left from retired colors, I whipped out some of my blue bayou & soft sky. I also used some retired paper from Stampin' Up! called Spring Break.

This card was so fun to make! It has all of the fun elements I LOVE: Polka dots, embossing, layering, stitching and ribbon! Did I miss anything?
This week's guest designer over at Our Creative Corner is Julia Aston! Please stop by to see all of the wonderful samples everyone made!!

If you got time to play, we would LOVE to see your samples. There is no time limit on our challenges - feel free to participate whenever you are able. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC

Before I go, I would like to announce the winner for the custom watermark giveaway. Congratulations to Desire from Doing Life. Desire please email me at jdmeyer6@sbcglobal.net so I can get started on your watermark. :)

You're So Sweet & Giveaway

Happy Friday & thanks for stopping by! :) I wanted to share a fun project I created using a cornstarch can. I got some fun goodies from Jacksonbelle Embellishments and reached for my NEW Bittersweet paper from Basic Grey. I LOVE this paper!! LOTS of pink & brown but LOTS of fun swirls & hearts too!

I covered the can with a pink piece of basil cardstock. The Sizzix top note die was used as a backing and layered using my rectangle Nestabilities from Cut At Home. At this point, I was not sure if I was going to add a sentiment or a fun image. Since this Happy Heart Day was still on my table, I reached for this set again! Last year I ordered this stamp set way to late so I never got to use it, I guess I am making up for it now! LOL
Do you need a watermark or do you like mine? Leave me a comment and you will be entered to win a custom watermark. I will announce the winner on Saturday, January 10th.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Here is a close-up. I replaced the snowflakes with hearts and for extra fun, I added some Martha Stewart glitter. I bet I don't run out either, Walmart had it for 50% off and I bought a few bottles to last me until next Christmas...

OCC - Sketch Challenge

Hello & thanks for stopping by! :) Today's card is for this week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner. I am hosting this month's challenges and this week I created a fun Sketch.

We also have a special Guest Designer for the week. Shannon Erskine ( aka E3stamper on SCS). Not only has she put together a sample for this week’s challenge but she is also donating a NEW set called Owlentine from Treehouse stamps to one lucky winner from this week’s challenge participants. Ordinarily, there is no time limit on our challenges, but this week, to be entered into the drawing, you must have your project linked up to the OCC in the comments section by 12 noon Eastern Time on Friday, January 8th. We’ll draw a random name from the entries and announce the winner on Saturday, January 9th, along with out next challenge.
Here is a pretty cool idea ~

Picture here on the left is the Martha Stewart Scalloped Dot punch. Since I have not seen any NEW punches for Valentine's Day, I thought of a pretty cool idea. I found my $1 heart punch I got at Target last year and punched out the bigger holes with this small heart punch.

Pictured here is the start of it. Right after the punched out hearts, you can see the large holes. I just turned the punch upside down and put the hole in the heart and punched it out. For those that have a heart punch like this, I hope this inspires you to give it a try. :)
Before I go, I would like to announce the winner for the Quickutz die from Cut At Home. Congratulations to Kim from Crafts By Kim, please email me your addy so I can get your goodies out to you. jdmeyer6@sbcglobal.net

My Favorite Things...

TGIF... Thanks for stopping by :) Today's card is for this week's Limited Supply Challenge "LSC201" over at Splitcoast. The challenge is use your favorite things.

Stamps - A set from your favorite stamp company. (Stampin' Up! Happy Heart Day)
Cardstock and ink - Your favorite color combination. (Can you possibly guess what that might be?! Kraft, Pink & White)
Embellishments and tools - 2 or 3 of your favorites from this list: brads/eyelets/hardware, punches, ribbon/trim/cord/twine, Nestabilities/Big Shot/Sizzix/Slice/Cricut/Cuttlebug, flowers, chipboard/grungeboard, piercing/faux stitching/stitching. (Sizzix, Cuttlebug & Ribbon - I went over so I hope they don't mind)
Technique - No limit here, you can even use your favorite technique. (Embossing)
Here is a close-up of the mouse. The image was stamped onto the heart and again on another piece of Kraft cardstock. Then I stamped the image again but this time on a piece of pink pirouette cardstock. The mouse and the heart were cut out and added to the first image. This way, I don't have to worry about cutting out his tail...

For added fun, I sponged all of the layers except for the white layers. Doing this technique made the card pop! For extra detail, I added the ribbon, button & flowers.

Now that Christmas is over and Valentine's Day is around the corner, I am having a blast creating some fun & adorable cards!!

Tomorrow I will be sharing a card for Our Creative Corner. We have added three NEW girls. We hope you stop by and say hello and if you have time, play our challenge.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Happy New Year!! Today's sample is using the mailbox die by Quickutz. For my design, I cut out two pieces of cardstock using my Labels One Nestabilities from Cut At Home. The top layer was embossed using one of my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folders called Winter House. Snow glitter by Martha Stewart was added and the mailbox was planted on the corner.

The mailbox die comes with all that you see except the tiny hearts. I got the hearts from the envelope Quickutz die. I sampled that die yesterday, click here to see the sample.

So do you notice the NEW watermark? What do you think? Leave me a comment here and you will be entered to win. There will be three winners and if you are picked, I will create a custom watermark for you. I will announce the winners on Sunday, January 4th.
