Our Creative Corner Color Challenge

Hello Everyone!!! I know its been a while since I posted so I thought I would update my Blog for all of my subscribers and followers!!! As some of you know... I am taking some time off to regroup and enjoy my travels for 2010. In less then 6 weeks I will be traveling to Norway to see the last concerts of A-Ha. Traveling this year has been a dream come true and I have really enjoyed being a part of A-Ha history!!! While I have dropped in Blog posts, I have gotten to spend a lot more time with my family, friends, AND making ALL of my dreams come true!! Thanks so much for joining me on my adventures, I promise to update my Blog when I can...

Can you believe that the month of October is going by so quickly? Before you know it, all the ghosts and goblins will be out, running thru the neighborhood! Speaking of Halloween, this week's color challenge screams out Halloween to me! How about you? This weeks hostess, Diane Gilbert, is challenging us to create a card/project using these colors, or if you don't have these colors, use colors close to these:
Everyone is welcome to play along at any time, if you upload your card/project to SCS, use the keyword OCCC. Note: If you don't have these colors, use colors close to the color palette.

OCC - Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday Stampers!! Today's card is for this week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner. Our September host has challenged the OCC to a sketch challenge, we warmly invite you to play along, feel free to use your favorite supplies.

For my sample, I used a NEW stamp set by SU called Jolly Old Saint Nick. On my layout, I used kraft and baja breeze along with white cardstock to make the card pop. Martha Stewart punches were used on the layers as well as the tag. To finish off the card, I added some clear tinsel by SU along with a snowflake by K&Company.

Sorry for the in between posts, but I have been super busy with planning my trip to Norway this winter, I am heading to Oslo to see the last 3 A-Ha concerts!!!! As you can see, I have lightened up my load because of all of my travels this year!!!! This is a dream come true for me and I hope you all understand and will stop by at least once a month for a post or two from little old me!!

Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to stop by the OCC to check out the amazing samples by the Design Team!

Good morning crafter's!! Today's projects are the following challenges: Our Creative Corner (Let's Get paper folding) and for Project Tuesday (Gate Fold Card). Everyone is welcome to play along, feel free to use your favorite stamps and supplies.
For my card, I created a gate fold card, you can find all of the directions here. For my sample, I used a NEW stamp set by Stamps and Smiles called Home Baked Goodies. Since I was baking some cookies for my daughters homecoming, I quickly put a card together for her to also hand out. Splitcoast created this easy to follow tutorial along with a super cute sample.

Since I have been super busy, I always seem to be playing catch up!! However, I did manage to play this weekend. We hope you have time to stop by and see all of the other wonderful samples by the OCC Design Team.
Before I go, I would just like to take a few minutes and say a prayer for all of those that lost there lives on September 11th. You will NEVER be forgotten!!

Happy Saturday and thanks for stopping by! Just a quick post for today's challenge over at Our Creative Corner. Our September host, Lori Rider, has challenged the OCC to feature letters and/or numbers on a card or project. We warmly invite you to play along, feel free to use your favorite supplies.
Even though school has started for my kids, I created this pencil holder for Hannah's teacher - she will surprise her with it on Tuesday!! For my sample, I covered a small paint can with red cardstock and found this adorable FREEBIE over Meljen's Designs. The image was paper pieced (Rose, I hope I make you proud) and some of the pieces were popped up using pop dots. To finish it off, I added the sentiment and a chipboard letter.
Before I go, I would like to share a picture of Jake, as you can see from the picture, he is doing much better and his scar on his head fades a little more each day! Thanks for keeping him in your hearts and prayers!!
I am also sharing a picture I took off our our deck last night. Yesterday it was dark and rainy but for a few moments, the sun came out to play. It was SO beautiful, I had to share it with all of you!! Have a safe Labor Day weekend and don't forget to stop by Our Creative Corner to see the other fun samples by the design team.

Stamps and Smiles - Last Day of Previews - Blog Hop Tonight 8 - 9 pm CST

Happy Friday & Thanks for stopping by!! We are on the last day of our samples for the NEW Stamp Release by Stamps and Smiles - we want to thank you all for stopping by and joining us!! Here are the last two sets to be previewed: Little One & Bundle of Joy.

Want another chance to win more FREE stamps??? Play along with our Blog Hop... Hint: Fill your Piggy Bank FULL... Stop back tonight from 8 - 9 pm CST for our Blog Hop - One lucky winner will win 5 sets from the NEW stamp release.
Here are a few samples I created. The frame was painted and chipboard letters were added so I could personalize it. Once the letters were glued on, I added some MS glitter. Check out the close up. After the image was colored, using my Copics, I added a thin line of glue and some MS tinsel glitter.

I also created this box. I took a piece of cardstock 8.5 x 8.5 and scored it on all 4 sides at 2". The lid, was created with a piece that was just shy of 8.5 x 8.5 and scored at 2" also. After the box was put together. I cut panels for the top and sides of the box and embossed them using the Sizzix jumbo polka dot embossing folder - I LOVE it, can you tell?

Here is a picture of the goodies inside the box. I created a onesie by layering the fabric using no-sew adhesive. There are also 5 pairs of socks that I made into tiny cupcakes.
I hope you have liked the samples so far, please stop by TONIGHT for our Blog Hop from 8 - 9 pm CST. Have a SUPER fun day!!

For my samples, I just used some extra canning jars and filled them up with my silk flowers. The images were stamped in Memento ink and colored up using my Copics. Quick, easy and affordable. All of the NEW images will be available to purchase on Friday night after the Blog Hop - 9 pm CST at the Stamps and Smiles store.
Here is a close-up from the top view. As you can see, I did not add the tops to the jars, that way I can just stick my hand in and pull a flower

Here are the next two sets to be sampled: Little Stinker & Yummy in my Tummy. As you can see by my samples, I have a lot going on!! I created this darling Box, blanket, onesie and card for some friends of ours that are expecting their first child and we are are SUPER excited for them!!
Here is a close-up of the onesie. I lined the onesie with a piece of cardstock and stamped the Little Stinker image onto the onesie using staz-on ink. I then stamped the blue fabric with the image and quickly ironed the stamped frabric onto no-sew adhesive. Once the image was cut out, I quickly added it to the stamped onesie. *This makes such a sweet gift and you can even stamp cloth diapers if you have them!!
I also am in the process of crocheting a baby blanket. After your blanket is complete, you can even create a tag. I would just like to add, that these sets were SO much fun to play and design with, I too hope you were inspired by today's samples!!
Before I go, I would also like to show you my card sample using the Yummy in my Tummy set. I have a ton of idea's using this set!! For my sample, I added some coins... what child would not like it? Please stop by after the release for my project and card samples using each of these sets!!

Now let's check out my samples using the NEW sets - Home Baked Goodies & Fun in the Sun.
I dusted off an old recipe box that I had and added some designer paper along with Mod Podge. The recipe cards were created in Photoshop and can be downloaded for FREE here.

Along with the recipe cards, I also created a couple of magnets using some old magnets from the fridge. To create the magnet, I used a Sizzix die and punched out the frame. The image was then stamped on kraft CS and sponged using some dark brown ink. I don't know about you but I am always running out of counter space when I bake, SO... now I can add my favorite recipe to the fridge using my brand NEW magnets - who wouldn't LOVE that?!?!

My last card sample was created using a NEW card technique. You can find all of the directions here. Please stop back this Friday night, August 27th, for our Blog Hop 8 - 9 pm CST, I have other fun samples to showcase using both of these sets.
Have a fun day and don't forget to stop by the Stamps and Smiles Blog to see more creative samples by the Design Team.
