Background Stamping From Scratch...

I just want to thank everyone for all of the wonderful cards and wishes for June. Her treatments are going well and as I know more I will share it with all of you.

While visiting Leslie's Blog "Running With Scissors", I saw this really neat technique "Background Stamping From Scratch". Along with Splitcoast, Leslie is a huge inspiration to me!

For my card, the main image was stamped using Black Staz-on and watercolored paper. I watercolored the image using Barely Banana, Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery & Mellow Moss inks. After the image was completely dried I masked it and took my En Francais Block stamp and randomly inked the stamp in different areas of the stamp. I then took the block stamp and stamped over the masked image. After lifting the stamp and masked paper off, I sponged Creamly Caramel and Close to Cocoa in the open areas.
