Here is a special card I made for an on-line friend of mine. Her nephew is in boot camp right now and feeling a bit homesick.

I got this stamp set to make cards for him and this is my first card using this set. If you feel like sending him a card or two, please email me and I can give you the address. jdmeyer6@sbcglobal.net

For my card, I colored it in using my prisma colored pencils and gamsol. For a little extra detail, I cut out the soldier and layered it. I am not really sure about the ribbon, but it kind of adds a little something...

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by. I have a special card to share for Our Creative Corner challenge. Cindy Haffner is our host for June and for her last week hosting she has picked a challenge to use old Basic Grey paper.

For my card, I really did not know which paper to use. After a while, I finally decided to use patterned paper from the "Blush" line. It is probably my favorite but then again I say that with ALL Basic Grey paper! LOL :)

I started with the Soft Sky carousel notes by Stampin' Up! Just to age it a bit, I sponged close to cocoa around all of the edges. I layered it with whisper white, then some patterned paper by Basic Grey. For extra detail, I sewed the edges and layered a piece of embossed vellum. For a little extra fun, I created this fun pocket using my scalloped punches. To finish off the card, I added some pretty butterflies using some punches from the Martha Stewart line.

Mothers & Daughters Creations Design & Goodie Giveaway

Here is a sweet card I designed using some fun supplies from the Mothers & Daughters Creations store. Every Thursday the Design Team has a weekly challenge. This week we are to create a card using a sketch from Pagemaps. We would LOVE it if you could play along, just pick out a sketch and post it to the "MDC" gallery on Splitcoast.

For my card design, I embossed the bottom portion using my cuttlebug. To make it pop, I dragged my white craft pad across it. The Cupcake was stamped on the Baby Powder - Tiny Tantrum paper. This NEW line is from Imaginisce, its double sided and it comes with fun matching stamps and embellishments.

Sketches Challenge #50

Happy Thursday!

Just a quick announcement... This Saturday Our Creative Corner has a fun challenge planned PLUS some goodies to go along with it.

I had so much fun designing this card and I really LOVE how it turned out! Its sad to say but I am using some of my last pieces of the afternoon tea paper by Stampin' Up!

After placing the 3 panels on my card, it looked pretty good. Just adding some simple detail to the card took it from good to great. To finish the card off, I bought the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and added a couple random butterflies.

My cards has a ton of layers but you don't have to use that many. I just got this fun ribbon from Archivers and it sort of played a roll in today's card! I embossed all of the background pieces with the swiss dots embossing folder. The floral paper is called Kitsch'n Floral by Imaginisce. Patterned paper can be found at Mothers & Daughters Creations.

Here are 7 random things I am willing to share with ALL of you! :)

1. I still pick on my blanket?! Not really sure why but it is something I have carried over into my adult life? My 4 year old does it too, its so sweet! :)

2. I have curly hair and can not stand it! Don't tell my 4 year old though, she has it worse then me (Shirley Temple curly) :)

3. I am double-jointed in my fingers.

4. My left pupil is bigger then my right.

5. Chocolate and stamps are my weakness!!!

6. My favorite colors are pink & yellow, I bet you couldn't tell?! :)

7. Last but not least, I would LOVE to move to Maine. How horrible would it be to eat lobster every day? YUMMY!!!

Sweet Little Baby... Card Giveaway!

Well the Design Team from Mothers & Daughters have been busy with our Thursday Challenge! My first card I combined two challenges in one. Tamara's Sketch Challenge "SC49" found here & The Mothers & Daughters Creations weekly challenge.

My cards were done using this darling paper & stamps by Imaginisce. The paper is called Baby Powder and has got to be the sweetest paper I have ever played with! Its so sweet I think I could make cards with it until next year. If you know of anyone expecting, this line is just darling to use! The paper is double sided and comes in both baby boy & baby girl.

LSC172 Happy Feet...

Here is a quick card for today's Limited Supply Challenge "LSC172". For the challenge you are to "Get Knotty". You are to create a card using knots. You could add a knot image or tie your ribbon in a knot.

My card measures 4.25 x 4.25. I added a little Star Dust Stickles to the bottom of the Penguin. For the lollipop I cut a lollipop stick and added the circle for the sucker. :)

My first card is just a simple design and layout. Since I need to make some fun masculine cards, I decided to use this penguin set by Memory Box called "Penguins At Play". The shorts were stamped on bashful blue cardstock and colored in with my white gel pen.
