Our Creative Corner - Earth Day

Hello & thanks for stopping by!! Today's project is for this week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner. Our April hostess, Silke Ledlow, has together a fun challenge. With Earth Day approaching April 22nd, she asked us to create a card/project using recycled items.

I decided to turn a pickle jar into an adorable coin jar for my 5 year old. I ran the bottle & top through the dishwasher to sterilize it. I had these old rub-ons and added them throughout the bottle. I painted the lid and sealed the paint with a clear varnish. To finish it off, I added a little raffia around the neck of the bottle.

We warmly invite you to play along, we would LOVE to see how you can use some recycled items on your card/project!!

Before I go, I forgot to announce the winner for the Stamps and Smiles goodie bag! Congratulations to Grandma Dee. Dee please email me your addy so I can get your goodie bag out to you!

Our Creative Corner - Sketch Challenge

Hello & thanks for stopping by! Today's card is for this week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner. Our April host, Silke Ledlow, has created a wonderful sketch!! We also have a prize to offer for one lucky participant that plays along with us this week.

For my design, I used some of this beautiful paper by Stampin' Up! called Sweet Slumber Specialty, I just LOVE the warm colors and beautiful patterns!! Since the main layer on the sketch was long, I decided to use one of my favorite sets from the Idea Book & Catalog called Friends 24-7. The flowers are a bit of work to cut out but well worth it. On the flowers, I added some random color using my Copics.

Stamps: Friends 24-7 Ink: Paper: Memento Paper: Sweet Slumber Specialty, Sahara Sand, White Accessories: Mega & Circle Nestabilities, Copics, Ribbon.

Please stop by Our Creative Corner to check out the other creative samples using this sketch!

OCC- Easter Theme Challenge

Hello everyone! Welcome to another fun challenge from Our Creative Corner!! This week's challenge is brought to us by our April host, Silke Ledlow. Silke has challenged us to an Easter theme challenge.

For my design, I decided to create a project. I took one of my kids lunch bags and cut about 4" off of it. I cut two pieces of cardstock just about 1/4" larger on all four sides. Before adding the cardstock panels, I made a handle using my eyelet punch and some extra scraps. I added the first panel along with the handle and then carefully added the second panel along with the other end of the handle.

On the front of the bag, I created a pocket to hold the card. The front was decorated using the rectangle Nestabilities from Cut At Home. For some extra fun on the Nesties, I added some glue and some snow glitter by Martha Stewart. The darling bunny is from the Sleepy Bunny set by Stamps and Smiles. Want to save 15% on your order, add this coupon code SAS09JM
Here is a close-up of the bunny, she or you can leave off the bow and make it a he, is just too sweet and I am having a blast coloring her up with my Copics!!

Normally there is no time limit on our challenges but this week we have a special Guest Designer, Jennette Fincher. Jeanette is donating a stamp set to one lucky winner!! In order to win this set, please have your card/project uploaded to the OCC and add your name to Mr. Linky by 12 noon on Friday, April 10th. If you upload to Splitcoast, please include OCCC in the keywords. The winner will be announced Saturday, April 11th.
Thanks for stopping by! Please check back soon, I will create a tutorial on my bag.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello & thanks for stopping by! Today's card is for this week's Sketch Challenge "SC222" over at Splitcoast.
