Background Stamping From Scratch...

I just want to thank everyone for all of the wonderful cards and wishes for June. Her treatments are going well and as I know more I will share it with all of you.

While visiting Leslie's Blog "Running With Scissors", I saw this really neat technique "Background Stamping From Scratch". Along with Splitcoast, Leslie is a huge inspiration to me!

For my card, the main image was stamped using Black Staz-on and watercolored paper. I watercolored the image using Barely Banana, Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery & Mellow Moss inks. After the image was completely dried I masked it and took my En Francais Block stamp and randomly inked the stamp in different areas of the stamp. I then took the block stamp and stamped over the masked image. After lifting the stamp and masked paper off, I sponged Creamly Caramel and Close to Cocoa in the open areas.

Happy Easter Dad...

I am in LOVE with this set, can you tell? Here is a fun Easter card I made for my dad, he knows I LOVE Easter and yellow is my second favorite color! :)

Recipe - Stamp: A Good Egg Paper: Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana, Whisper White Patterned Paper Imaginisce Ink: Black Accessories: Ribbon, Prima Colored Pencils & Gamsol

The patterned paper can be found at "Mothers & Daughter Creations".

Hello & Happy Sunday! I have not posted much lately because I am now just getting over a bad cold. A couple of weeks ago, my kids had it and now it was mom's turn. Thankfully, it was just a cold and NOT the flu! I am feeling much better and looking forward to stamping again!

For the main image, I colored them in with a blender pen and my ink pads. Just to give it a little more detail, I punched out some flowers and added three little white dots.

Make A Wish...

I have been playing catch up... All four of my kids had the flu this week and my older daughter Brittney had it the worse. I took her to the ER on Wednesday night and we were there for 3 hours. Our wait was all because of the lab. So needless to say after a 2 hour wait for a strep test, it came back negative. Guess what the ER doctor said next... We should do the flu test and that will take another 45 minutes. Now why didn't they just do both tests at the same time?! For those that are wondering, No the ER was not busy.

I designed this card for "Sketches" Sketch Challenge "CS29". You too can play, to view this sketch click on the link here. If you are like me and LOVE sketch challenges, head over to her Blog for both Card Sketch & Scrapbook Layout Challenges. Tamara posts them weekly.
