Halloween Tag & Giveaway

Happy Halloween!! Thanks for stopping by!! This is going to be a quick post... I created this fun tag using my NEW Label 1 Nestabilities from Cut At Home. To decorate my Halloween tag, I added a ghost & pumpkin from Sizzix. The ghost was embossed using my DVine Swirls embossing folder. For the extra detail on the pumpkin, I whipped out my Martha Stewart branch punch and added a twine bow.

Got a funny story to share on Halloween... if so, you will be entered to win this tag along with some fun ribbon. I will announce a winner on Sunday, November 2nd.

Don't forget... you have one more day to use your October coupon for Cut At Home. They have all of the NEW Nestabilities in stock!!

Have a safe & happy Halloween!

Sketches Sketch Challenge #68

Happy Thursday & thanks for stopping by!! Today's card is for this week's Sketch Challenge "SC68" over at the Sketches Challenge Blog. Tamara would LOVE it if you played along, there is no time limit and if you upload to Splitcoast please include "Sketches" in the keywords so she can see your cards.

For my design I started with my card base, Chocolate Chip, layered with Riding Hood Red and then a piece of Kraft cardstock. Since I just got NEW goodies from Cut At Home which included the NEW Label 1 Nestabilites, I incorporated the NEW Labels in my design as a fun pull out tag. The vellum pocket was stamped and sponged to flow with the vintage design.
I stamped the background using Lovely As a Tree in Chocolate Chip and then again in Craft White to make the trees pop. To really age the card and make it feel more vintage like, I sponged on Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip using the Vintage Value technique. For some extra detail and fun, I added some coarse glitter to the trees and landscape. To finish the card, ribbon and rope by Stampin' Up! was added.
I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do, it really warms my holiday spirit!! You can find the Vintage Value technique at the end of this post. Give it a try, you will LOVE the finished look!!
Here is the recipe ~ Stamps: Winter Post, Lovely As a Tree Paper: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Kraft Ink: Chocolate Chip, Craft White, Close to Cocoa Accessories: Nestabilities/Label 1 - Cut At Home, Brads, Jumbo Eyelet, Ribbon - SU, Rope - SU, Coarse Glitter - Martha Stewart.
Vintage Values How-To: Requires 2-3 shades of the same color of ink and a craft sponge. Starting with your lightest shade of ink, use a craft sponge to sweep ink from the outer edges of your cardstock inward as far as you want your glow to touch. Repeat with your next shade of ink, but only sweep about 2/3 as far in (so some of the lighter color still shows in the inner sections). Repeat with the darkest shade of ink (if desired), sweeping with short strokes, only about 1/3 of the way in.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Tomorrow I will share a fun Halloween card and a fun little giveaway.

Two Challenges in One

Happy Tuesday!! Thanks for stopping by, today's card is for two challenges. The first challenge, I used Julee's Mojo Sketch Challenge "Mojo57". The second part is this week's Color Challenge "CC189". The challenge colors are Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip & Kiwi Kiss. Some of you know how I feel about Pink so I got right on it!

I had not inked up my Upsy Dasiy stamp set yet, so I quickly mounted it and got right on my card! To create the flowers, I inked up the image with Pink Pirouette and then turned the stamp over and colored on some Regal Rose to the tips of the flowers using my SU markers. I continued with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip on some of the stems. To give it some fun sparkle, I used some Angel Wings by Shimmerz. To finish off the main image, I used my spritz tool and added some fun specks with my Regal Rose marker.

ALL of my "Pink" challenge cards this week will be donated to the Chemo Angels. Starting Monday, October 20, ALL of the the weekly Challenges over at Splitcoast are going PINK for the week in honor and celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. WT188 Who's Got Plaid???

Happy Thursday & thanks for stopping by... Today's card is for the Ways to Use It challenge "WT188" over at Splitcoast. The challenge today is "Plaid". I LOVE plaid, especially at this time of year! It adds such a warm feeling to Christmas cards. Don't have plaid, how about some plaid ribbon, patterned paper or background stamp?...

I settled for my background stamp! Can you believe I could not find any plaid paper in my stamp room? I looked high & low for plaid paper and could any... So I whipped out my handy plaid background stamp and inked it up with white craft ink. The main scene was sponged using some baja breeze and the to make it all come together I added some Martha Stewart coarse glitter. For some extra holiday detail, I added the deer from the Winter post set and some pretty snowflakes.

Hope my card puts you in the Christmas mood and if that doesn't, hope over to my Christmas blog, I have a Christmas card giveaway X's 20.

When I woke up this morning I decided to look at the sketch again. While looking at the sketch, I thought it would make a great stair step card. So I got right to it. Cuttlebug Challenge #3 - Spooky Halloween Box

Happy Wednesday & thanks for stopping by Jennifer's Sweet Designs! Before I start with my post, I just wanted to update some of you that emailed me and posted about Hannah! She is doing much better, it looks like she has a start of a cold. I am hoping she gets over it as fast as it came! Thanks again for asking about her and keeping her close to your hearts! :)

Today's fun project is for this week's Cuttlebug Challenge. The challenge is to use your Cuttlebug on something else but a card. Since its just a couple week's until Halloween, I wanted to make good use out of my NEW Halloween Dies from Sizzix.

For my design, I created this fun Halloween box to store some extra pieces using my Sizzix dies. This way I don't have to cut each & every time I need a NEW piece. I even added dividers in my box, the idea came from Nichole Heady's Blog. You can find the divider tutorial here.

Directions for box: Cut a piece of cardstock 8 x 8. Score all four sides at 1 1/2". Fold, cut and glue in the corners. {I use sticky tape when I make my boxes} For the lid, Cut a piece of 8 x 8 paper. Glue a piece of 8 x 8 decorative paper over the top & let dry. Score at 1 3/8 on all four sides. Fold, cut and glue in the corners. Decorate the top of box.

Thanks again for stopping by! Tomorrow I will post a card/project for a fun challenge by Mothers & Daughters Creations.

Have a wonderful day,

TLC190 Happy Halloween

Quick card, quick post. I created this for today's challenge Try a NEW Technique "TLC190". You can find all of the directions here. Later today, I will post my directions & the recipe! Well, I am off to take Hannah to the doctor.

Have a wonderful afternoon,

What Happened???

Good morning! Sorry but I don't have anything fun to share today. Yesterday, we went from having a great time at the pumpkin farm...

to this... When we got home Hannah was sick on the couch. At first she complained of a sore throat, then a tummy ache, then she got sleepy and fell asleep for about 45 minutes. When she woke up from her little nap, she had a fever over 102. What happened?!

Boy they get sick so fast! I am planning on taking her to the doctor today to rule out strep, so no stamping until Hannah is better. However, I am working on something fun and hopefully will post it in the next day two.

Have a wonderful week!

Quick Post

Good Morning to all. Since we had gorgeous weather yesterday, we packed up the family and took a mini trip to get away from all of the craziness of every day stuff! It felt so good to get out and spend some quality time with the family! There are going to be fewer days of warm weather so we really took full advantage of it! I would have pictures to share, but silly me left the memory stick in the computer. {Note to self... keep an extra one in the car & camera case}!

I hope to share something with you today but that depends if its nice out again! I checked out the Featured Stamper challenge and its a good friend of mine from Splitcoast Anne Ryan. If you have some time, you should check out Anne's amazing gallery! I hope to play a little later...

I also would like to announce the winner for the fun Halloween pillow box. I LOVED reading all of the fun answers and you all did an amazing job at guessing, but I'm going to go with Cindy Haffner's guess. She guessed ribbon on her first try but I know a couple of you were VERY close {you know who you are... hehe} Thanks for playing and I promise to have another fun game soon! This time ladies, only one guess each! :)

Have a wonderful week & thanks for stopping by!
