Card for June & Homemade R.A.K.

Here is a special card I made for June. We got some exciting news that her treatments are going well and the cancer in her lungs is shrinking! Since June is big on gardening, I always try to send some kind of floral card/design.

As promised (hehe) I am sharing some of GORGEOUS RAKS that I have received in the last month or so. I have also included a special song for you while you view these amazing cards and if you have some extra time... Don't forget to make some of your favorite popcorn! :) Enjoy the show! LOL :)

A Card For June...

Here is a special card I made for June. My dad was over for Easter and its seems as though she is sicker the she is telling us kids! I guess being a parent we want to protect out children as much as we can & that includes the REAL truth about what the doctors are saying. I have been sending June cards at least once a week but now I will be sending them a little more often! I want her to know we are thinking of her and praying that she gets better everyday! Please keep June in your prayers...

Background Stamping From Scratch...

I just want to thank everyone for all of the wonderful cards and wishes for June. Her treatments are going well and as I know more I will share it with all of you.

While visiting Leslie's Blog "Running With Scissors", I saw this really neat technique "Background Stamping From Scratch". Along with Splitcoast, Leslie is a huge inspiration to me!

For my card, the main image was stamped using Black Staz-on and watercolored paper. I watercolored the image using Barely Banana, Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery & Mellow Moss inks. After the image was completely dried I masked it and took my En Francais Block stamp and randomly inked the stamp in different areas of the stamp. I then took the block stamp and stamped over the masked image. After lifting the stamp and masked paper off, I sponged Creamly Caramel and Close to Cocoa in the open areas.

JAN08VSNG Gell Well...

This card is for another fun VSN challenge "JAN08VSNG". The challenge is to use punches to create animals or bugs. You can even make a dioramas or paste the animals to paper, or just make a card.

I cased this card from Dawn5377. Dawns card layout was just adorable. I changed a few things but it is her card that inspired me. I also changed the sentimet to Get Well. My step-mom is sick with lung cancer and I want to send her a card at least once a week to let her know we are thinking of her. If you would like to send a card, please read the first post here.
